Square & Compasses Day The Statewide Open House is Saturday, October 19 from 9 am to 3 pm. A child identification event is also planned coincident to the open house. Joseph Warren Bus Tour The Sixth District is planning a bus tour of historically significant sites related to the life of Dr. Warren on Sunday, Oct 20. Founding Martyr presentation at Morrill Memorial Library Orient Lodge will host author Christian DiSpagna for a public talk about his research on Dr. Joseph Warren at the Morrill Memorial LIbrary on Monday, Oct 21, at 6:30 p.m. Attendance is free, please RSVP on the Morrill Memorial Library website. Less than 24 seats remain! Blue Hills hike - Saturday, October 26, 8:30 am. More details to come. Lodge of Instruction The Sixth District Lodge of Instruction will be Monday, Oct 28, at 7 pm in the Westwood Masonic Building. Wor. Bryan Simmons, past master of Ezekiel Bates Lodge, will present on what’s helped the lodge thrive and be successful. Holiday Shopping & Social at Norwood Masons Hall Invite your family, friends and significant others to a pre-holiday social at the Norwood Masonic Lodge building on Sunday, November 17, from 1 to 3 p.m. Vendors representing Thirty-one Brands, Touchstone Crystal, Rodan + Fields, Sousa Woodworks and more will be on hand. Light appetizers and refreshments will also be available. There is no cost to attend. Save the Date American Red Cross blood drive - Saturday, November 23 Children’s Holiday Party - Saturday, December 7 District Holiday Ball - Saturday, December 7 Feast of St. John - Friday, December 27 Seeking Volunteers to Start Local DeMolay Chapter The Sixth Masonic District is working to open a DeMolay chapter to serve the greater Norwood and Westwood area. They’re currently soliciting volunteers to serve as advisors, requesting a six-month or one-year commitment to help get the chapter off the ground. Several opportunities are available. A strong line of adult volunteer advisors is the no. 1 critical path toward founding a chapter. If you are able to support this worthy endeavor, or if you are interested in learning more, please let me know or contact the district’s youth service lead, Bro. Officers Meeting and Rehearsal Our next officers meeting will be Monday, Oct 7, at 7 p.m. We will rehearse the third degree opening, the official visit and have our first rehearsal in advance of November’s first degree for our candidates.
